Every year, we welcome nearly 500 new transfer students to USF. They enrich our community with their experiences and insights. We, in turn, offer them the best of Jesuit education with a San Francisco twist.
Fall 2018 Update:
We're still accepting fall 2018 applications from every program except nursing and your application fee will be waived. The deadline to apply is August 24.
You may apply as a transfer student if you have graduated from high school and are currently or have been enrolled at another college or university, or if you would like to pursue a second bachelor's degree. Find a program that suits your academic interests at our main campus in San Francisco, or at one of our additional campus locations.
Applicants should complete 24 semester credits or 36 quarter-units of transferable coursework with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher to be competitive for admission. Applicants to the Bachelor of Science in Management program need to complete at least 60 transferable credits before applying (scroll down for details). We will consider applicants with fewer earned credits if they present a strong high school record and standardized test scores.
Students must be in good academic standing at the last institution attended. Good standing is defined as a cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher, including at least a 2.0 GPA in the most recent semester of college course work completed.
- Application: Starting August 1st, Submit a completed Common Application with the non-refundable application fee by the application deadline.
- Official Transcripts: Students must submit separate, official transcripts from all colleges or universities previously attended. These records are required whether or not credit was earned or is desired, and should be sent directly from the registrar's office to our Office of Admissions.
NOTE: Academic transcripts are only reviewed as part of the application review process. We cannot “pre-evaluate” any prior work completed.
If you have fewer than 24 semester credits or 36 quarter-units of transferable coursework, the following are also required:
- Official high school transcript
- SAT or ACT scores
If you are an international student, please visit our International Admission page for details.
