We are accepting transfer students for the fall 2022 term for all majors except nursing.
Apply NowEvery year, we welcome nearly 500 new transfer students to the University of San Francisco. As a transfer student, you’ll get the best of a Jesuit liberal arts education and put your degree to work in the thriving, diverse, entrepreneurial city of San Francisco.
You can apply as a transfer student if:
With 43 majors and 70+ minors, USF will have a program that suits your academic interests at our main campus in San Francisco or at one of our additional campuses.
We want to recognize your academic achievement! USF automatically considers all transfer applicants for a merit scholarship as part of the admission process. There are no additional forms required to be considered for a transfer merit scholarship. Merit scholarships are determined by your transfer GPA at the time of application, which is a calculated cumulative GPA of all college courses you’ve taken:
GPA | Merit Scholarship Per Year |
---|---|
3.75 or higher GPA | $16,000 |
3.50 to 3.74 GPA | $14,000 |
3.20 to 3.49 GPA | $10,000 |
2.90 to 3.19 GPA | $7,000* |
*The 2.90–3.19 GPA merit scholarship is only offered to domestic students. |
If you receive a merit scholarship, it will be noted in your admission letter. In addition to merit scholarships, we also encourage domestic transfer applicants to submit a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Unfortunately, merit scholarships are not available for students applying to USF's Sacramento nursing program.
In order to be considered for transfer to USF, you need to meet our transfer eligibility requirements:
If you meet these requirements, you’re eligible to transfer to USF!
For all majors but nursing, there are no prerequisite courses you need to complete prior to transfer. For information on transferring for nursing, please carefully consider our transfer nursing requirements.
Once your application is complete, you’ll be guided to set up your applicant status page, where you can track your application’s progress.
