Cost of Attendance
The cost of attendance is an estimate of what it costs a typical student to attend USF for one year. It includes tuition and fees, plus other expenses to keep in mind, like housing, food, books, and travel. Your actual costs will vary, depending on whether you live on or off campus or with your parents, and how much financial aid you receive (make sure you apply!).

Indirect costs: These costs will not show up on your bill from USF. They are estimated costs. For example, you’ll probably need to buy textbooks and school supplies, personal items like clothes and toiletries, and travel expenses if you live far from home and plan to travel back during school breaks. You’ll decide for yourself how and when you make these purchases (and how much you pay). That’s why it’s just an estimate. These indirect cost estimates are based on information from the California State Aid Commission as well as results from USF's annual cost of attendance survey sent to students. |

- Tuition is based on full-time enrollment for the academic year (fall and spring semesters). Students taking fewer than 12 credits (or more than 18 credits) will be charged $2,135 per credit during the fall/intersession/spring terms. The summer 2024 rate is $1,430 per credit.
- Fees include:
- $262 ASUSF student activity fee (supports student services, initiatives, and activities)
- $310 transportation fee (MUNI pass allowing unlimited rides around the city on buses, streetcars, and subways)
- Housing and food costs are estimates based on the average full-time undergraduate student. See all housing and food costs.
- Tuition, fees, housing, and food costs increase slightly each year. Over the last few years, annual increases have ranged from 2.8% to 4.9%.
