Academic and Student Achievement

USF’s Center for Academic and Student Achievement (CASA) provides coaching, resources, and programs to help you succeed academically. You don’t have to navigate college on your own.

Meet Your Academic Success Coach

Every first-year and transfer student is assigned an academic success coach through CASA. You can meet with your coach in person, online, or by phone. Your academic success coach works with your faculty/major adviser to support your academic success and help you navigate your university experience.

Your faculty/major adviser helps you plan your coursework, develop a graduation plan, and discuss internship and career options. Your academic success coach from CASA can help you:

  • Connect with academic, career, financial, and mental health resources
  • Find student clubs and organizations and explore recreational sports
  • Resolve registration issues, including holds and registration errors
  • Explore majors and minors
  • Develop effective academic skills
  • Understand academic options, such as double majors, minors, leaves of absence, withdrawals, dropping classes, incomplete grades, and explain university academic policies and procedures

How Can Families Work With CASA to Support Their Students?

Families can contact CASA or their student’s academic success coach directly. CASA can encourage students to discuss the challenges they’re facing, develop a plan of action, and connect them with additional resources and support.

Because of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), CASA is unable to share information about a student’s academic, financial, or housing records without the student's consent.
