Federal Student Loans

Graduate students can apply for federal student loans by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Use USF’s school code 001325 when completing the FAFSA. Learn more about loans for graduate students.

The FAFSA opens on October 1 each year. We highly recommend submitting your FAFSA by March 1 to receive a timely financial aid offer. However, we will continue processing applications that arrive after that date. Don’t wait to be admitted to USF before applying for aid! The sooner you complete your application, the sooner we can prepare an offer for you.

Private Loans

If you have exhausted all federal aid, scholarship, and grant options, you could consider applying for a private student or parent loan to cover the remaining cost of attendance. These loans are often based on your credit score.
