The U.S. Air Force JAG (Judge Advocate General Corps) captain was blown into the air when insurgents detonated a car bomb at the entrance to his military base in Kabul, Afghanistan in August 2015 — killing six soldiers.
Celebrated battlefield nurse turned public health director and real estate investor Dolores M. Staudenraus ’54 made an $8 million gift to USF through her estate. The gift will go to fund scholarships, with a preference for students from Stockton and the Central Valley where she grew up.
