Visit Thacher Gallery
Welcome! Thacher Gallery is an intimate and casual exhibition space that is free and open to the public 12-6 p.m. daily whenever the library is open. For library closures, visit Gleeson Library’s Hours.
Finding Us
The Thacher Gallery is located on the first floor of the Gleeson Library-Geschke Center at the University of San Francisco at 2130 Fulton Street. The closest campus entrance to Gleeson Library is off Parker Avenue at McAllister Street, behind St. Ignatius Church. You will find two disabled parking spaces and a loading zone here as well. Gleeson Library is the second building on the left.
Entry
USF identification is required for automatic entrance to the library. If you do not carry a USF identification card, no problem! Ring the exterior doorbell (to the right of the entrance doors) and a staff member will open the doors for you. Once you are inside, there are additional security gates. Let library staff know that you are here for the Thacher Gallery exhibition and they will open the gates for you. The Thacher Gallery is located at the center of the library, through the doors to the left of the Circulation desk.
Parking
Two disabled parking spaces are available on Parker Avenue at McAllister with another on Golden Gate at Parker. There is a steep incline from Golden Gate to the library entrance. Disabled parking is limited; do not hesitate to reach out to us in advance for assistance: thachergallery@usfca.edu.
Free street parking spaces are available on Fulton Street, Parker Avenue, and Golden Gate Avenue. The nearest USF paid parking lots are on Golden Gate between Parker and Kittredge Terrace. A pass is required and can be purchased at the Lone Mountain Visitor and Parking Kiosk 12-6 p.m. or in advance by emailing parking@usfca.edu.
Seating
The gallery provides benches and chairs for seating.
Restrooms
Gendered, wheel-chair accessible bathrooms are located on the same floor as the gallery. An all-gender restroom is located on the lower level, accessible by stairs or elevator.
