Jessica L. Fajfar

Jessica Fajfar is the Director of the CREATE Law Clinic and an Associate Professor at the University of San Francisco School of Law, where she is redefining experiential legal education at the intersection of intellectual property, artificial intelligence, entrepreneurship, and technology. She leads the Clinic's USPTO Law School Certification Program, supervising law students in trademark prosecution and enforcement matters before the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office and the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board, while also guiding students in copyright, privacy, licensing, domain name, and emerging technology matters for creators, startups, non-profits, entrepreneurs, and small businesses.

Professor Fajfar founded the CREATE Law Clinic's Artists' Rights Workshop series, bringing free legal education and one-on-one consultations directly to artists, musicians, and makers throughout the Bay Area. Through partnerships with arts organizations and maker communities, the initiative empowers creative professionals to navigate copyright, contracts, artificial intelligence, and other legal issues shaping today's creative economy.

In addition to her academic work, Fajfar serves as Of Counsel with RafterMarsh US, P.C., where she advises technology companies, entertainment businesses, and creative professionals on intellectual property, privacy, licensing, artificial intelligence, and commercial transactions.

Fajfar is a frequent speaker on intellectual property, artificial intelligence, and the future of creative rights, and is passionate about making legal services more accessible to creators, innovators, and entrepreneurs.

Outside the office, she enjoys spending time with her son, playing percussion, gardening, cooking, practicing yoga, and growing — and occasionally crafting — utility gourds.
