Biography

Allison Wang is an associate professor of law, and Director of the Externship Programs at University of San Francisco School of Law. Professor Wang oversees the judicial, civil, externship, tax, and summer international externship programs. She is passionate about giving law students the practical tools they need to become successful lawyers.

Before joining USF, she directed the Pro Bono Program at UC College of the Law San Francisco, and served as Golden Gate University’s Externship Director from 2019 - 2022, where she piloted the nation’s first evening Cannabis Law Clinic and Golden Gate University’s first evening Asylum Clinic, which created opportunities for working and part time students to engage in experiential learning. While at Golden Gate, she also taught Legal Research and Writing, and Legal Analysis. In 2021, she served as Golden Gate’s Interim Director of the Office of Accessible Education for both the law school and the university.

Professor Wang’s practice experience is in real estate and landlord-tenant law. She clerked for the Honorable Maria-Elena James in the Northern District of California, and worked as a legal research attorney and appellate staff attorney for the criminal and civil divisions of the San Francisco Superior Court.

She is a Minority Bar Coalition board co-chair and on the BASF board.
