Mental Health Talent Pipeline (MHTP) Scholarship

The Healthcare Foundation of Northern Sonoma County and USF’s School of Education are working together to ensure that mental healthcare for Spanish speakers is available in northern Sonoma County. To be eligible for scholarship consideration, you must be admitted to the Santa Rosa M.A. in Counseling Psychology, MFT program, be a resident of Sonoma County, submit a FAFSA or California Dream Act Form, and be a fluent Spanish speaker.

Preference considerations are given to students living in or near the towns of Cloverdale, Asti, Geyserville, Simi, Healdsburg, Windsor and northern Santa Rosa along the Hwy. 101 corridor and who are willing to provide mental health services in northern Sonoma County during traineeship and for at least two years after graduation at an approved site.

How to Apply

Add one sentence to the bottom of your Statement of Intent identifying yourself as a fluent Spanish speaker and ask to be considered for the MHTP scholarship. Scholarship recipients will be evaluated based on the totality of their completed application, group interview, and financial need. Scholarship awards are pending scholarship contract approval.

Please attend one of our Santa Rosa MFT information meetings. Next, submit a complete application, including all documents. Submit the 2026-2027 FAFSA or CA Dream Act before May 31, 2026.
