My time in Shanghai was easily one of the most rewarding experiences of my college career. Some of my favorite memories were making traditional foods alongside my new friends, exploring the city, and observing everyday life.”

The Liu Family China Immersion Program selects up to 15 current USF students across the university as Liu Family Scholars, offering them a two-week immersive experience exploring China’s culture, society, and rapidly changing economic landscape.

Through academic sessions, visits to companies and civic organizations, and firsthand cultural experiences, students will gain a deeper understanding of contemporary China and its connections to the wider world. The program is designed to bring learning beyond the classroom, giving students the opportunity to engage directly with the people and institutions that shape China today.

No prior experience in China or knowledge of Chinese is required. Students from all fields of study are encouraged to apply.

This merit-based fellowship will provide selected students with:
