  • Are you 70 1/2 years of age or older? If so, the IRA Charitable Rollover is a tax-smart and increasingly popular way of supporting USF. This permanent provision of the tax code allows you to transfer all or a portion of required minimum distribution (RMD) directly to USF. A charitable rollover of IRA funds to USF will not count as taxable income in the year you make your gift, which may keep you in a lower tax bracket. Your gift to USF counts toward your RMD. And you save taxes whether you claim the standard deduction or itemize. More information »

  • You can also make a revocable gift to our organization through most financial instruments, such as retirement plan accounts, bank, and brokerage accounts, or donor-advised funds, with a beneficiary designation. Learn more »

  • Giving publicly traded securities to USF is an easy, tax-savvy way to support Jesuit higher education. When you give stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares that you have held for a year or longer, the IRS allows you to make your gift without recognizing capital gains on the appreciation. Transfer the shares via DTC into the University of San Francisco account at Merrill Lynch:

    DTC # 8862
    USF Acct # 7MR-02218
    Tax ID # 94-1156628
Account Name: University of San Francisco

Or, transfer shares from your Charles Schwab account directly into USF's Schwab account:

    USF Account # 8992-3715
