The University of San Francisco to Celebrate More Than 700 Graduates at Winter Commencement Ceremonies on December 12
SAN FRANCISCO (December 8, 2025) – The University of San Francisco (USF) will hold its 167th commencement ceremonies on Friday, December 12 at St. Ignatius Church on the USF campus. The 2025 winter graduates include 334 students from the College of Arts and Sciences, 317 students from the School of Nursing and Health Professions, and 86 students from the School of Management.
San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie will give the College of Arts and Sciences commencement address to 234 undergraduate degree and 100 graduate degree recipients at their 6:00 p.m. ceremony. Lurie was elected in 2024 as the city’s first political newcomer — having never held a position in public office — to serve as mayor since 1911, and is the founder and former CEO of Tipping Point Community, an anti-poverty nonprofit.
Chinese Hospital CEO Jian Zhang, DNP, MS, FNP-BC, NEA-BC, FAAN, is the commencement speaker for the School of Nursing and Health Professions (SONHP) commencement. Named as one of 2025’s “Most Influential Women in Bay Area Business” by the San Francisco Business Times, she will address the 148 undergraduate, 153 graduate, and 16 doctoral students earning degrees this semester. The SONHP ceremony begins at 12:00 p.m.
The School of Management commencement will be held at 3:00 p.m. with 59 undergraduate and 27 graduate students receiving degrees. Sheena Way, vice president of content and programming at Golden State’s Chase Center, will give the commencement address.
The December 2025 graduates represent 32 states and Washington, D.C., and 28 countries, and 325 are the first in their families to graduate with university degrees.
