USF will honor 506 undergraduates, 503 graduate students, and 41 doctoral candidates at ceremonies in St. Ignatius Church on USF’s campus Dec. 15.

Speakers include Naomi Kelly JD ’01, San Francisco’s city administrator; Joan McGrath MA ’69, businesswoman, philanthropist, and university trustee; and Warren Weber, a pioneering organic farmer.

Sharing their wisdom

Kelly, who received her law degree at USF, will speak to College of Arts and Sciences graduates. She’s the highest non-elected official in San Francisco city government, and is responsible for a 2,700-strong workforce and an annual budget of nearly three-quarters of a billion dollars.

McGrath, who earned her master’s in theology at USF, will speak at the School of Nursing and Health Professions and School of Education ceremonies. She and her husband Robert created USF’s McGrath Institute for Jesuit Catholic Education.

Weber will speak at the School of Management ceremony. He founded Star Route Farms, the oldest continuously certified organic farm in California. The Marin farm was purchased by USF in August.
