4+1 Degree Programs

Go farther, faster. Earn a bachelor's and master's degree from USF in five years. No lengthy grad school applications, no waiting. Just a clear, direct path to starting your career a step higher on the ladder. And 50 percent off your fifth-year tuition to boot.

Benefits of a 4+1 program

  • Less time: Earn two degrees in five years instead of six. Skip a year’s worth of tuition and class time and get out into the working world sooner.
  • Less stress: You won’t face the hassle of applying for grad school and waiting on pins and needles for decisions. While each of our 4+1 programs has academic requirements you’ll need to meet during your undergraduate years – like completing specific courses and maintaining your GPA – once you do, your path to a graduate degree is set.
  • Lower costs: Get a 50 percent discount on the fifth year of your 4+1 program. No separate application required.
  • More marketable skills: The hands-on projects and internships embedded in your fifth year will show employers that you’ve got the practical skills they need right from the start. You’ll be qualified to apply for jobs with higher pay and more responsibility, and potentially move more quickly into management roles.

My USF graduate experience was just as transformational as my undergraduate experience. Both have greatly contributed to how I lead and serve in my community.”

Should I do a 4+1 program?

If you know which field you want to pursue and want to streamline your undergraduate and graduate studies, you'll benefit from a 4+1 program. You'll tackle graduate-equivalent courses in your junior and senior years that satisfy both degrees. You'll also do a capstone project and real-world projects in your fourth and fifth years. Prepare to hit the ground running.
