Class of ’09 Posts 81.3 Percent Bar Pass Rate

USF's pass rate surpassed the statewide average of 79 percent for first-time takers from law schools accredited by the American Bar Association.

"USF's consistently high bar pass rate is a testament to our smart and talented students, accomplished faculty of noted scholars and gifted teachers, and our rigorous, innovative academic programming," said USF School of Law Dean Jeffrey Brand.

In addition, students who participated in the USF's Academic Support Program (ASP) passed the bar at a slightly higher rate than the Class of 2009 overall. Brand praised ASP co-directors Richard Sakai and Carol Wilson for their "dedication to helping all students achieve their full potential."

USF alumni who passed the bar exam will be sworn in to the California Bar in a ceremony in St. Ignatius Church on Friday, Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. For more information, contact the Office of Career Planning at (415) 422-6757.
