NPR’S BIOTECH NATION On-Location with USF MBA Students and Professor Moira Gunn At BIO In DC

by Gene Thomas

Nicole Hamilton, USF MBA 2011, Marketing and Biotechnology (and co-producer of TECH NATION and BIOTECH NATION with USF School of Management Professor Moira Gunn) sent us a brief note from the midst of our School’s annual visit to BIO  — the world's largest gathering of the biotechnology industry. The BIO International Convention attracts more than 17,000 attendees from around the world.

Each year, Professor Gunn leads a group of USF School of Management students to this event, while simultaneously producing — with student collaboration — more than 50 individual interview segments with the leading scientists and corporate leaders in the Biotech field for her nationally broadcast radio program TECH NATION and BIOTECH NATION.  Nicole writes:

Hello From Washington, DC

We're here at BIO today. Just got back from a personal tour of the NPR headquarters, saw Morning Edition, Talk of the Nation, and also got to sit in on a talk by a NPR journalist about his experience in North Africa. It was really amazing. I've attached a picture (it was taken from an iphone, so quality is not good, we'll try to get another one to you with us out front by tomorrow) of Moira, Nivanka Paranavitana (current USF MBA student), Olga Levin (USF MBA 2011), Kingsley Smith (Program Director, NPR Worldwide & NPR Sirius radio channels), and I in the headquarters.

Thanks!
Nicole
