The 272: Working to Overcome the Legacy of Slavery in Our Institutions

Rachel L. Swarns is an acclaimed journalist, author, and NYU professor who investigates the history of American slavery, examining how we live with this history and how it shapes who we are today. In this talk, Professor Swarns will discuss her most recent book, The 272, which won the American Book Award for “outstanding literary achievement.” 

This distinguished lecture honoring Black Catholic History Month will be followed by a reception and book signing.
