USF Raises Nearly $100,000 on Giving Tuesday

by Jady Ojiri, Office of Development Communications

The university community came together on November 30 for Giving Tuesday and raised nearly $100,000 in donations, surpassing the original fundraising goal of $20,210.

Each year, Giving Tuesday inspires people from across the globe to donate to organizations whose values align with their own. Inspired by their will to change the world, this year’s donors made over 360 gifts in support of Changing the World From Here: Campaign for the University of San Francisco.

To reach this year’s fundraising goal, USF needed support from across the community. In response, generosity arrived in droves, with gifts traveling in from community members near and far, through both small and large gifts.

Lindsey McClenahan, interim vice president of Development, shared, "I was filled with immense gratitude at the response of our alumni, families, and friends who supported USF this Giving Tuesday. Now, more than ever, your support is needed to ensure our students thrive on campus and after graduation. Thank you, Dons!”

Every gift truly makes a difference, regardless of the dollar amount that each donor is able to contribute. This triumph could not have been made possible without the concerted effort of each and every donor who participated on Giving Tuesday.

During yet another holiday season that has been impacted by the pandemic, these collective acts of generosity are empowering reminders of the community’s strong commitment to supporting one another.
