Fr. John Lo Schiavo Legacy Society

Legacy gifts have an enduring effect on USF’s students and faculty. They help secure the university’s future as well as support initiatives that are most important to you.

These types of plans often include a gift through a will or trust, charitable trust, establishment of a charitable gift annuity, or beneficiary designation in a retirement plan.

The legacy society honors the example of Fr. John Lo Schiavo, whose inspired leadership at USF spanned more than six decades. Society members carry on Fr. Lo’s legacy of enduring devotion to Jesuit values through education.

The Legend of Wolf and Kettle

Many years ago, in the Basque country of Spain, there lived a prosperous and generous family who, after feeding families and soldiers, had enough left over for the wolves. The image of two wolves eating at a cauldron became the symbol of the family’s generosity. Many centuries later, St. Ignatius of Loyola would be born into this family and would go on to establish the Jesuit order.

The loyalty of  Wolf & Kettle Society members embodies the spirit of generosity and giving demonstrated by the Loyola family.
