Recruitment and Marketing Team Update

by Tamara White, Graduate Enrollment Manager

Fall 2015 academic semester marked the beginning of an incredibly busy season for the Recruitment and Marketing Team.

We visited over 50 graduate school fairs and 20 professional conferences across seven different states. Some of these visits included California State Universities, University of California schools, and Idealist Fairs, as well as CNSA, APHA, and the Men in Nursing Conference. We spoke with over 1,000 prospective students who expressed their desire to attend graduate school at USF because of our values, mission, and quality of education. We were also fortunate enough to meet with many students one on one, many of whom visit USF at the recommendation of great alumni like you, and we continue to appreciate your efforts to promote your alma mater.

We also hosted over ten informational webinars for all SONHP graduate programs in addition to five specialty topic webinars in Public Health and Health Care Simulation that resulted in over 400 participants. Six open houses were held and lead by our Program Directors with over 200 prospective students in attendance. It was amazing to see the high demand for our graduate programs.

The highlight of our recruitment season was rolling out our first ever Student Ambassador Leadership Program in which we selected graduate students from all SONHP programs to serve as student representatives. Students were selected through a competitive process and we were lucky enough to build a strong team of ambassadors who were enthusiastic and excited about promoting our programs! Student Ambassadors were trained and given the opportunity to attend and travel to conferences with our team.

We now have two new Certificate Programs entitled Executive Certificate in Clinical Informatics and Certificate in Healthcare Simulation Education. These certificates are great for students who would like a deep introduction to the field but want to take classes at their own pace without committing to a full master’s level program. In addition to our certificate programs, our newest partnership is with the Sisters of St. Joseph's hospital; we are proud to announce our new Orange County location, where we now offer MSN for the Non Nurse Program there. The first cohort began classes this semester and just had their White Coat Ceremony on February 19.

Know anyone who's interested in studying Nursing or Health Professions field? Send them our way and we would be more than happy to help them learn more about the many outstanding program that USF School of Nursing and Health Professions offers!
