Harnessing the Peaceful Power of Sport

After graduating from the Sport Management Master’s Program in 2010, Adam Hirsch landed a job with Peace Players International (PPI), an organization founded on the premise that “children who play together can learn to live together.” PPI uses basketball to bring children together in Africa, Asia, and Europe, and the Today Show has already featured their growing impact.

Adam spent two years embedding himself in local communities on the ethnically divided island of Cyprus. His work ranged from coaching young children to directing the program and building new business relationships to sustain the expansion PPI location.

Upon finishing his fellowship in 2012, PPI hired Adam as the Development and Communications Associate in their head office in Washington, D.C., where he now harnesses the power of sport for civic engagement on a global scale.
