MSMI candidates augment their degree by participating in multiple extracurricular professional and career development activities:

  • Consulting projects with the Malloy Group, a student-led organization with a roster of impressive clients, including Cisco, Google, GE, Facebook, Airbnb, Salesforce, Gap, and Tesla
  • School of Management events such as VR/ AR workshops, the MAPC Speaker Series, Hackathon, and Non-Profit Leadership conferences
  • USF workshops providing instruction on career mapping, resume/LinkedIn reviews, mock interviewing, job targeting, salary negotiation, and professional development
  • Informal meet-ups in downtown San Francisco regarding marketing analytics, design thinking, and hardware programming
  • Attendance at several corporate-sponsored conferences including Techcrunch, Dreamforce, and DataX

MSMI students work with Vagaro

Vagaro — a cloud-based scheduling software company that provides business management services to small businesses — collaborated with the MSMI program for their annual research studies. Led by Kiran Kaur, Vagaro’s Market Research Specialist and a USF MSMI alum, the students gave presentations on the mental health therapy, tattoo, and martial arts industries and how Vagaro might be able to align with them more closely.
