Dr. Popal has trained ESL/EFL teachers in English and Applied Linguistics across Afghanistan, Pakistan, Korea, China, and Germany since 1980. He has been an integral faculty member in the USF School of Education IME Department, particularly the MATESOL program, since 1993. His published research in bilingual education, linguistic code-switching and code-mixing has contributed significantly to scholarship in his field. Dr. Luz Navarrette García is a part-time professor in the Department of International and Multicultural Education at the University of San Francisco. She has been a proud part of the IME familia since starting her doctoral studies in 2008. A full-time community college ESL professor at Santa Rosa Junior College, Dr. García is happy to share her expertise with students in the MA TESOL program.

Yi Guan

Assistant Professor, Teaching English as Second Language

Yi Guan’s scholarly work focuses on strategy-based instruction, educational technology, and adult education. She has been invited to present at regional and national conferences such as CATESOL and TESOL.
