Prepare for a Career in Special Education
Earn a Master of Arts in Special Education with Mild/Moderate Support Needs Education Specialist Preliminary Credential. Complete the program in one year if you already hold a teaching credential and two years if you're new to the profession.
Study in Small Classes
Join a close-knit cohort with small, personalized classes that emphasize theory to practice grounded in culturally responsive pedagogy and universal design for learning.
Earn While You Learn
Work a paid teaching position with a Northern California public school throughout the duration of the program. You can also apply for scholarships available to all USF School of Education master’s students.
Learn from Experts
Our faculty offer extensive supervision and mentoring, on the job and in class, providing the support to meet job, program, and state requirements.
Advocate for Bilingual Education
Can be combined with our Bilingual Authorization Certification which prepares Spanish-bilingual teachers to be strong advocates for Bilingual Education.
