Our Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) program is on the front lines of teaching best practices in working with vulnerable populations. Our program breaks down barriers regarding mental health and extends learning through engagement, advocacy, and the belief in each student's agency. Our mission is to educate future clinicians with a vision to make a difference in the field of counseling.

Program Highlights

  • In the heart of Silicon Valley, students are immersed in an energetic community with rich cultural experiences across the country
  • 60-credit program with classes in the fall, spring, and summer semesters.
  • Cohort-based model with fall entry dates.
  • The program offers a schedule designed to help the working adult with classes meeting one evening per week and occasional Saturdays.

I chose USF because of the faculty's commitment to social justice. My counseling psychology professors work in the field, advocating for marginalized communities and reimagining what it means to be a therapist. They bring these experiences into the classroom and enrich our learning experience. At USF, I can see that 'changing the world from here' is a goal that our community strives towards every day."

Our Faculty

Our faculty have strong clinical backgrounds in the field of community mental health. We teach from a place of care that values each one of our students and the life experiences they bring to learning. We also honor the cultural wealth of the communities we serve through strengths-based education.

As Faculty Coordinator, my mission is dedicated to bringing USF into the community through education, service, and strong community relationships. I am deeply inspired to welcome students from all backgrounds as each of you bring a rich experience to a reciprocal learning process. In my role, I will work closely with each of you every step of the way during these exciting three years. From orientation to graduation, I look forward to being part of your USF journey."
