How are Workshops and Seminars Designed?

Our two-year program offers workshops and literature seminars in the genres of fiction, poetry, and nonfiction. The distinctive design of the program emphasizes the connection between reading and your own writing, fostering collegial relationships with faculty in small classes. All courses are taught in person by accomplished practicing writers, so that both literature seminars and workshops pay detailed attention to craft.

Is an MFA the Right Next Step for My Writing?

Writers shape how the world thinks, feels, and acts. Being a writer starts with curiosity, creativity, and inspiration — whether you want to compose stories for future generations, spark cultural conversations, or build imaginary worlds readers can escape into. Turning that spark into a writer’s life takes craft, mentorship, community, and dedication. A Master of Fine Arts in writing gives you the guidance, structure, and momentum you can’t get on your own. You’ll sharpen your voice, deepen your thinking, and connect with a vibrant community of collaborators and champions.
