Margaret Clausen

Biography

Dr. Margaret Clausen is an adjunct professor at the East Bay campus, a licensed clinical psychologist, and a clinical supervisor. She was a first-generation college student, and is dedicated to helping students and trainees discover their unique clinical voice. Dr. Clausen bridges justice-informed psychology, neuroscience, and spirituality in teaching, writing, and clinical work.

Prior to joining the faculty at the University of San Francisco, Dr. Clausen was a practicing psychologist to diverse adults living with complex medical conditions, generational and single incident traumas, addiction, and acquired disability in medical settings, community mental health, and private practice. She serves as a consultant to college counseling centers, medical settings, and psychotherapy clinics in the areas of her expertise which also includes risk assessment, postvention with clinician survivors of client suicide, white clinician racial identity development, and nonpharmacological methods of expanding consciousness. Dr. Clausen has published articles on psychotherapy.net in these same areas.
