Undergraduate Programs

How much and what kind of physical activity is beneficial? What impact does exercise have on the human brain? How can kinesiology help improve the quality of life for underrepresented communities? What is preventative health care? By examining the physical and mental benefits of exercise, kinesiology students gain the knowledge to promote healthier lifestyles for people of all ages and backgrounds.

Our BS degree, supplementary minors, professional opportunities, and service around the San Francisco Bay Area, students enrolled in USF’s Kinesiology department develop the practical knowledge and hands-on experience to promote the health and well being of all people.

Professional Practicum

Our students gain real world work experience in one of 50 professional exercise, health, and sport settings around the Bay Area.

What can I do with a degree in Kinesiology?

  • Fitness-related professions for children, adults, and special populations are provided with opportunities to prepare for personal training certifications and enroll in minors that support their populations of interest (Child and Youth Studies, Gerontology, Neuroscience).
  • Graduate school in kinesiology are offered opportunities to participate in faculty research projects as a volunteer or research assistant, obtain collaborative experiences with students from kinesiology and other majors, departments, and universities.

Pre-Health Program

Applying to medical school after graduation? You may complete your pre-health science requirements as a part of, or in addition to, the requirements of your kinesiology major.
