Come study the biology and behavior of human movement. Work closely with faculty on research in biomechanics, exercise physiology, motor control and learning, motor development, and sport and exercise psychology. Apply what you learn to projects that serve the community.

The mission of the Department of Kinesiology is to advance the knowledge and application of physical activity and to promote the health and well-being of all people.
What Can You Do With a Degree in Kinesiology?
- Fitness-related professions: Pursue careers in personal training, athletic training, exercise physiology, and more.
- Graduate school in Kinesiology: Join in faculty research projects as a volunteer or research assistant, and collaborate with kinesiology students at other major universities.
Help Athletes Improve Performance
In the Motion Analysis Lab, you’ll analyze how people move when they play or exercise. This analysis can help people improve their performance and reduce the risk of injury.
Pre-Med & Pre-Health Professions Advising
When majoring in kinesiology, you’re able to concurrently enroll in USF’s Pre-Health program. You’ll receive strategic letters of recommendation, coursework guidance and hands-on experience, and access to expert career advice. Graduates pursue a variety of careers in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and medicine.
How Can You Get Involved Beyond the Classroom?
Join the Kinesiology Student Association (KSA). All majors are welcome. The goal of KSA is to offer students resources and a community. If you’re interested in health sciences, exercise, or careers in this field, join us. We’re going to invite kinesiology professionals and USF kinesiology graduates to be guest speakers — to give us advice about different careers.”
