Kalmanovitz Hall amphitheater

Classical Studies, Minor

How are the intellectual achievements and philosophical debates of ancient Greece and Rome relevant in our everyday lives? Why have their literary themes and mythologies endured for centuries? In what ways have Greco-Roman views on religion, government, gender, and justice shaped those of modern societies?

Drawing upon diverse and comparative perspectives, you'll explore the ancient world from all angles. This includes exploring the connections between past and present through the study of classical languages along with courses in the history, politics, material culture, philosophy, and literature of the ancient world.
