Janice Mark, DNP, FNP-BC, RN

Dr. Mark’s deep history with USF spans 37 years. After graduating from USF’s BSN program in 1987, she enjoyed a 30-year medical-surgical nursing career, earned an MSN from UCSF as a Geriatric Clinical Nurse Specialist, and returned to teach at her alma mater. She later completed her DNP as a Family Nurse Practitioner at USF in 2017. Her doctoral research on older adult fall prevention earned her a prestigious two-year AACN Public Health Nurse Fellowship with the CDC’s Older Adult Falls Team.

Over nearly three decades of teaching at USF, Dr. Mark has taught medical-surgical clinicals, simulation, and physical assessment, alongside serving as Sophomore 2 Level Lead for nearly a decade. Now an Associate Professor with tenure and Faculty Director of Immersive Learning, she leverages her clinical and research expertise to lead simulation innovation, competency-based education, and emerging technologies across the nursing curriculum.
