The Guaranteed Data Science Master’s Admission Program provides guaranteed admission for eligible undergraduate students in USF Physics to continue their studies in the USF MS in Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (MS-DSAI) program, along with a 20% discount on all MSDS units through the Double Dons scholarship.
Is It Difficult To Get Into The MS-DSAI Program?
MS-DSAI is a highly ranked 12-month graduate program in Data Science and AI, with typically less than 3% of applicants who started an application being admitted. This opportunity allows students to advance their education and prepare for successful careers in data science.
Requirements
Students may join MS-DSAI if they fulfill the following requirements:
- Major in physics
- Overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Major GPA of 3.3 or higher
- At least one recommendation letter from a Physics full-time faculty member
- Completion of undergraduate coursework listed below with the cumulative GPA of those courses together 3.5 or higher:
Additional Information
Students will remain in undergraduate status until they satisfy the physics degree requirements. After fulfilling the undergraduate requirements, students will enroll in MS-DSAI in the following Summer session. No overlapping course credits or transferred credits are allowed for the MS-DSAI degree, and students will only start their MS-DSAI courses after enrolling in MS-DSAI.
Admission Process

Physics students can submit admission applications to MS-DSAI starting in the Fall semester of their senior year and ending on March 1 of the following Spring semester for admission to MS-DSAI in the following Summer session.
- Students must complete all the requirements for their bachelor’s degree by the end of the spring semester so that they can start the MS-DSAI program in the summer semester. For example, students who applied in Fall 2024 and Spring 2025 must fulfill the undergraduate degree requirements by the end of Spring 2025 to be eligible for the enrollment of MS-DSAI in Summer 2025.
