Dean's Scholarship Recipient
Tiffani Carroll

Where are you from and what is your background?
I am originally from Los Angeles, CA. I graduated from the University of Southern California in 2018 with a BA in Political Science. I was the first in my family to graduate from college.

Why did you apply for this graduate program and decide to study at USF?
I chose to apply to the MA in Urban & Public Affairs because I loved the interdisciplinary nature of the program, and its basis in San Francisco.

What impacts has the Dean's Scholarship had on your ability to further your studies?
It has provided a sense of pride and some peace of mind for me in continuing my education. It has provided peace of mind in the sense of feeling better about the cost of my education and pride in knowing that I am very capable academically.

What are your career ambitions?
I would like to be a professor one day, but also an expert in government policy and anthropology relating to labor issues and rights.

What is something unique or interesting about you?
When I'm not at school or work, I'm usually DJing.
