Biography

Dr. William Hua is an adjunct professor and teaches for the MPH and PsyD programs; his courses include a focus on integrated behavioral health, integrated care, and psychotherapy. He is a clinical health psychologist with the San Francisco VA health care system and has a strong emphasis on work with diverse and stigmatized populations and is dedicated to providing culturally humble care and treatment.

Dr. Hua received his PhD in Clinical Health Psychology & Behavioral Medicine at the University of North Texas, and received specialized behavioral medicine training through the VA Palo Alto psychology residency program. He is the co-founder of a nonprofit organization called Here to Hope, which focuses on improving well-being and education for children living in children’s homes in Guyana, South America. He was born and raised in Oklahoma City and has been running and eating his way through the Bay Area since moving here in 2011.
