Biography

Dr. Juli Maxworthy is an academic, innovator and collaborator. During her over 30 years in healthcare, she spent almost 20 years in various roles in critical care in a busy open heart and trauma unit. During that time, Dr. Maxworthy became heavily involved in the shared governance activities within her organization. After realizing that she needed more education to prepare her to take on the challenges of her current and potential future roles she went back to school and completed two Masters and a Doctorate over the course of six years (along with raising three teenagers). During that same time, she moved into the world of quality, medical staff, patient safety and risk. Her last clinical position was that of VP of Quality and Risk.

In 2013, Dr. Maxworthy made the transition into academia and is now an Associate Professor who teaches in both the Executive Leader and Population Health DNP Programs. She is currently the Chair of the Simulation Committee. Dr. Maxworthy's courses include Quality and Patient Safety and Data Analysis for the Executive Leader. Dr. Maxworthy also teaches Project Management in the Population Health DNP Program. She has been the Chair for over 50 DNP student's projects.
