Graciela Acedo is a ballet teacher, choreographer, and a USF grant recipient. She trained in Caracas and at Boston Ballet with a government scholarship and a Harkness Ballet Internship. Professor Acedo performed the classics with Ballet Teresa Carreño sharing the stage with Rudolf Nureyev, Fernando Bujones and Julio Boca. She's a former principal dancer with Ballet Nuevo Mundo de Caracas and worked with choreographers Judith Jamison, Ulises Dove, John Butler, Elisa Monte, Dennis Nahat, Choo San Goh, Donald Mckayle, performing in South America, the US, Europe, and Asia. She is a former Oakland ballet dancer and teacher and a current faculty member at USF, San Francisco School of the Arts, Ayako, Berkeley ballet, and Diablo (pre-professional program). She created the ballet curriculum for Dance Attack and is a former associated director for Western Ballet and summer programs Assistant director for Dance Theater of SF. Additionally, Prof. Acedo is a Napoles Ballet mistress, guest teacher at America's Ballet in Florida, Ballet de las Americas in Venezuela, and has judged ballet competitions.
