Camille Harris

Dr. Camille Harris is a new Assistant Professor at the USF Computer Science Department. Her research is primarily focuses on mitigating biases towards underrepresented and low-resource languages and dialects in natural language processing (NLP). Her work also explores marginalized groups and their experiences with social media, AI systems, and algorithmic bias. Prior to USF, Camille was a Postdoctoral scholar at Cornell Tech University, where she collaborated with scholars from Cornell Law School to study gender bias in U.S. capital trials. Camille completed her PhD at Georgia Institute of Technology in 2025, where she was a GEM fellow and Ford fellow, and received awards such as Recognition for Diversity and Inclusion from ACM Conference on Computer Supported Cooperative Work (CSCW 2023) and Best Student Paper Award from Equity and Access in Algorithms, Mechanisms, and Optimization (EAAMO 2021).
