Brian Thornton

Professor Brian Thornton is interested in the molecular control of cell division in eukaryotes. Although he does not currently maintain a research lab, his past research has focused on cell division in the budding yeast, Saccharomyces cerevisiae, through the application of genetic, biochemical, and cell techniques to study the role of the Anaphase Promoting Complex in the cell division cycle.  His current teaching is focused on areas of genetics, general biology, medical microbiology, and public health.
