Beth Havens

Beth Havens is an accomplished nursing professional and educator with over 18 years of specialized experience in Labor and Delivery and a strong record of preparing the next generation of nurses for clinical excellence. In her current role as an Assistant BSN Instructor, she guides baccalaureate nursing students through evidence-based instruction, active mentorship, and the development of critical thinking and clinical judgment essential for safe, compassionate, and effective practice. Previously, as a Nursing Clinical Instructor at Florida Keys Community College, she taught maternal-child and pediatric rotations, fostering inclusive, student-centered learning experiences.

In addition to her academic roles, Havens serves on the Obstetric Physician Residency Program Education Team at Kaiser Permanente, designing and delivering comprehensive training for new resident physicians. Her tenure as a Labor & Delivery Education Coordinator allowed her to lead educational initiatives, develop and update clinical policies, and implement quality improvement projects that elevated patient care and nursing practice.

Havens also brings extensive expertise as an Electronic Health Record (EHR) Consultant, where she has provided end-user training, mentoring, workflow optimization, and project leadership for multiple EHR implementations across diverse healthcare systems. This work has deepened her skills in clinical informatics, interdisciplinary collaboration, and process improvement—capabilities she integrates into both academic and clinical environments to prepare nurses for the evolving demands of modern healthcare.
