Program Overview

Build a strong foundation in Latin American and Latiné histories, cultures, and societies. Study across disciplines — history, sociology, theology, politics, English, and Spanish — and tailor your coursework to match your interests and career goals.

What will I study?

Examine how social, economic, historical, and political forces shape the experiences of Latin American and Latiné/x communities. Analyze master narratives. Strengthen your Spanish-language skills. Develop a transnational understanding of migration, identity, and cultural production across the Americas.

Choose from courses in history, sociology, politics, theology, Spanish, English, media studies, music, and the arts. Study topics like Indigenous heritage, colonization, liberation movements, and U.S. Latiné cultures.

Many courses in the minor also fulfill university core requirements, making it efficient to complete alongside your major.
