Student Leadership Program

Mission

Centered in Ignatian Spirituality, the Student Leadership Develop Program supports the university mission by developing student leaders of all faiths, as well as those with no religious traditions, to create a community that is reflective and authentic in its search for meaning and truth. With a culture of service that respects and promotes the dignity of every person, we inspire our student leaders to be people with and for others.

Goals

  • Develop leaders who will fashion a more humane and just world
  • Inspire students to live lives of hope, passion, integrity, and purpose
  • Instill in students the values of service and social justice for social change
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the diversity of the human experience and the importance of inclusive unity
  • Explore greater understanding of community, social issues and the self in community

Outcomes

  • In the Jesuit Catholic tradition, we challenge our student leaders to be contemplatives in action who:
    • Engage in experiences that challenge their perceptions
    • Reflect with thoughtful attention to the influence and meaning of these experiences
    • Allow their discernment to shape and transform our purpose in the world
    • Actively develop relationships of compassion, justice, and advocacy
  • Develop an understanding of their abilities and gifts
  • Demonstrate an understanding of group dynamics and effective teamwork
  • Participate and promote programs that strive to create a more humane and just world¬†
