L’Arche Retreat Immersion

“L'Arche” translates in French to “the ark” and is an international organization and community, started by Jean Vanier in France, that focuses on daily living in community through “relationship, transformation, and sign.” This retreat immersion is an opportunity to intimately engage in a L'Arche community with people with and without intellectual disability through daily fellowship, farm work, dialogue, prayer, community meals, and more. This retreat immersion will take place on a small L’Arche community farm and at other L’Arche Tahoma Hope community houses in Tacoma, Washington. USF participants are required to attend group meetings before and after the actual retreat immersion for group building, preparation, and reflection. This retreat immersion is open to USF undergraduate and graduate students and requires group formation and preparation meetings in fall 2017.

Spectrum is an LGBTQ+ focused retreat to build community, explore spirituality, and enjoy nature. In this supportive and affirming retreat space, undergraduate USF students will gather to share stories and build community with one another. The retreat cost covers round-trip transportation, all meals, and snacks. This retreat is sponsored by University Ministry, School of Education, and Toler Hall Gender Inclusive Community. Mountain Meditation Retreat

Saturday, March 3, 2018, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.

The Mountain Meditation Retreat is an outdoor retreat located at Mount Tamalpais (Tam) and rooted in meditative awareness and practice. Join together with USF students, faculty and staff to focus on the Ignatian motto Cura Personalis (“care for the whole person”) and include various multi-faith meditation technique lessons and practices, hiking, and reflection time. The retreat cost includes round-trip transportation, lunch, and snacks.  

Spiritual Exercises Silent Retreat

Spring Break: Monday, March 12 – Friday, March 16, 2018

You are invited to immerse into silence on the Spring Break Spiritual Exercises Silent Retreat. This retreat is a silent, individually-directed retreat based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola and includes such activities as one-on-one spiritual direction with a director, film showings, masses, and daily prayers and meditations.

Retreatants must commit to the entire duration of the retreat. Transportation will be provided from USF to the Abbey/Monastery the afternoon of Monday, March 12 and back to USF the afternoon of Friday, March 16. The pricing includes round-trip transportation, linens, all meals, and snacks. This retreat is open to all USF undergraduate and graduate students, staff, and faculty. 

KAIROS 32 RETREAT

The Kairos Retreat is an invitation to any undergraduate and graduate student who has not made a previous Kairos retreat at USF and is based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola (who founded the Jesuit order of priests). The weekend is a time to focus on relationships with self, others, and God through discussion, mass, time outdoors, music, prayer, and more. The retreat is led by students who have previously made the Kairos retreat through USF. The cost of Kairos includes round-trip transportation, meals, snacks, and linens.

FOURTH DAY RETREAT

April 13 – 15, 2018 (Friday 2 p.m. – Sunday 5 p.m.)

The Fourth Day Retreat is an opportunity for all undergraduate juniors and seniors and graduate students who have participated in Kairos through USF to experience a deeper understanding of the Kairos themes and Spiritual Exercises in their lives. Students will reflect on faith, friendship, and the future, with a focus on making the most of their remaining semesters at USF and “living the Fourth” in everyday life. The cost of Fourth Day includes round-trip transportation, meals, snacks, and linens.
