In 2014, Chris Matthews, political talk show host and best-selling author, joined USF’s Master of Public Affairs program as a distinguished visiting professor.

The nightly host for MSNBC’s "Hardball with Chris Matthews" taught a weeklong intensive graduate seminar on public service, politics, and democracy in the United States. He also participated in a public conversation with Msgr Robert McElroy, Auxiliary Bishop for the Archdiocese of San Francisco before an audience of more than 500 people on the USF campus.
