Course Description:

The American Broadway Musical has been influenced by the social, economic, and political history of the United States; in turn, this uniquely American art form has had a social impact on the U.S. and beyond. In this course, students will study the origins, structure, and development of the Broadway Musical over time—as an art form and as a social phenomenon. Open to all students, regardless of musical experience.
