Hello! My name is Salvador Aceves, and I am honored and humbled to serve as the 29th president of the University of San Francisco - a role that I welcome with both excitement and joy. This is a homecoming for me. Born and raised in San Francisco. I met my wife Carol in the fifth grade at St. John Catholic School. USF is where I earned both my undergraduate and doctoral degrees. I love this university and I love this City. USF is a vibrant destination that brings together faculty, staff, and students from around the world, united by a shared sense of purpose. My personal journey in Jesuit Catholic education began here and continued at two remarkable Jesuit institutions, Fordham University in New York and Regis University in Denver. Returning to USF is not simply a return to my home. It is a reaffirmation of my calling to lead, teach and serve in the Jesuit Catholic tradition. I am eager to work with all of you to support and advance faculty scholarship and excellence, student achievement, and alumni mentorship and engagement. So why USF? And why now? Well, the world needs people of conscience and compassion, who are committed to the greater good. It needs people with intellectual curiosity. It needs students who can use their education to address the world's most pressing challenges. San Francisco is my home and USF is my school. I can't wait to meet you, and work together to Change the World from Here.
