Thank you all so much for being here today at our open house. It's been a long time since we opened the doors of the Leo T. McCarthy Center.

We have a lot of you know special folks here today to celebrate with us. The McCarthy Center is my dad's ongoing Legacy of service. So this desk is a backdrop to an overarching scene from my Dad's life of service.

Having it here is s his ongoing Legacy carried forward by the good works of the McCarthy Center. We are profoundly honored to welcome California's 50th lieutenant governor. And the first woman elected in California's 172 years of statehood. Connor, thank you so much for that lovely introduction. The past is the prologue. It's incredibly important and objects remind us of the past.

They made this meal to remind us of what we love and they made the mural to remind us that we are on a move. This is our moment. We have incredible leadership. We have incredible students. We have faculty and community members who are all aligned together, reimagining this just world.
