0:02 USF law trains lawyers it's a law school 0:05 where you come out as a trained attorney 0:07 ready to go before law school I was 0:10 working at local high schools in San 0:11 Francisco and many of my students would 0:14 come back or would not come back over 0:15 the summer because they were you know at 0:17 the top of Twin Peaks in juvenile hall 0:19 or something else that happened there 0:21 were still issues and I felt like 0:22 actually helping my students that was a 0:24 way that I could further get back I 0:26 think my education at USF and the job 0:28 that I'm doing today at the federal 0:29 public defender's office 0:30 it has a I'd say a profound impact on 0:33 people's lives and on the community it's 0:34 awesome that we are creating the next 0:36 generation of individuals who are 0:38 actually going to change the world 0:40 through the law and in the legal 0:41 community current prospective students 0:43 should definitely take advantage of the 0:46 opportunities that are afforded to them 0:47 at USF law judicial externships 0:50 participation in the clinic the moot 0:52 court teams these are all opportunities 0:54 to get out there and actually practice 0:56 that to see what it's like to actually 0:57 practice as an attorney and to gain 0:59 valuable skills that you're going to use 1:00 throughout your career as an attorney I 1:03 owe my career to USF and I owe my career 1:05 to the professors and all the 1:07 individuals before me I owe my career to 1:09 the network that I've built at USF my 1:11 name is David Joseph Sutton I graduated 1:13 from USF law in 2008 1:17 you 1:19 [Music]
