We're at a real pivotal moment in education. Schools have always been really complicated spaces. But something particular has happened in the last few years with the pandemic. One of the things that has really emerged is that we see in society how dependent we are on public school spaces for the well-being of society. [MUSIC PLAYING] We do a really good job of preparing teachers to go into schools tomorrow and teach and do well, but also go in to schools tomorrow and change them and make them better. I think USF is a really great place to be supported and to feel like you have a voice, and that you are truly making an impact and a difference in what you want to do. And what is unique about the University of San Francisco's Teacher Education Program is that we have moved towards looking for evidence of equity and excellence in a teacher's qualifications so that the teachers we put in front of our students have high levels of experience, teaching high-quality traditional academic skills in socially transformative ways. So we're human focused and student centered. And we want to make sure that everyone succeeds. And that also happens through advisors, and professors, and classmates. I have students in my class who pushed me to think about things differently, who bring in their perspective that forces me to look at things differently, or ask more questions, or do more work, or do more research. So there's just a lot of mutual learning that's happening. And that's very invigorating. It's really exciting. The professors at USF are so wonderful. And they have played such a transformative role in my education here. They're very kind and very patient. And I think most importantly they see us as humans and as students. And those are the type of qualities that I hope to embody as a teacher myself. There's something very unique in the way in which we care for one another here, the idea of the Cura Personalis, the commitment to the whole person, to the whole individual. I appreciate it. I benefit from it. And I get to contribute to that as well. And so I would say USF is unique in that way.
