The University of San Francisco has a very prestigious name when it came to sports management. We're ranked in the top 10 in the world in Sports Management programs, and that was just extremely important to me, knowing that I was going to get one of the best educations possible within my industry. The Sport Management program has been in Orange County for 21 years, and so we have deep roots. That allows us to get access to the San Diego market, the Los Angeles market. And being nicely centrally located, it provides us broad access to the Southern California market. One of the best things about this program is its convenience. We have class one night a week for four hours. But while we're learning the essentials of the sports industry in the classroom, we're also encouraged to go out and explore the field, so getting internships, volunteer roles, part time jobs, full time jobs. I was able to garner relationships with my cohort members that have been long lasting. Some of my best friends are from this program. The classroom experience is designed to be hands-on, it's designed to be interactive, it's designed to get them the skills that they need in order to succeed. I love the interaction. It's not just a lecture. We don't sit there for four hours and take notes. It's constant interaction and expecting more from ourselves and learning and really taking what we learn every night on Tuesdays and integrating it into our work throughout the rest of the week. We have hundreds, in fact at this point thousands, of graduates who live throughout California, the United States, and the world. So our students are able to interact with any of those alumni, and a lot of times that's the access that you need in order to break into this industry. Right at the end of the program I was able to get an internship down the street with the Angels baseball. Today I am Senior Manager of Stadium Operations for the Los Angeles Angels. The alumni network has been very available to me, reaching out and connecting me with others in the sports industry. So I've definitely used USF as a platform to excel. And I've started working with the Los Angeles Sparks, South Bay Lakers, and I've even been able to visit the Nike World Headquarters, all in less than a year.
