I really wanted to work with at-risk and homeless youth and so apparently i am working for Larkin Street youth services I'm the GED and academic instructor I run my own program here I'm involved in the employment training program i teach from 1 30 to 32 in a classroom whether it's math English history or science and then I do manage my own GED group from four to six pm a monday to thursday i work with youth in transitional living programs and then i also work with youth that are trying to get housing and then also work with youth on the streets or other TLPs our goal is to help the youth on the streets and to help improve their living situations whether it's education jobs employment financially held m8 and so on i chose a human rights education because i want to come human rights attorney i want to emphasize in immigration law or one of my professors dr. Katz she has provided me with some resources to present to my youth on some scholarly journals and some documents that we can read in the classroom and also to some of the books that we have read in class I've also on presented to my students and we have some discussions about it and like having a book club about it as well I do want to work in the community and not so much litigating I want to or in community by offering know your rights workshops I want to do legal clinics and I want to teach people about their rights in the immigration community it was an empowering book because it focused on the students experiences and how they use literacy as a means of expression and that's what we'll be doing today as a classroom I do enjoy the community cuz everybody wants to see each other grow and to help each other improve their communities that they're in and they all folk they all have a love for social justice so when I came to usf I was like I finally found a group of people that are like-minded like as me and want a cause change in the community like usss to be the change agent
